Ashley advises businesses on the deals that shape them — selling up, bringing investors in, restructuring, and working out how to give the people who built the thing a share of it.

His clients span a broad range of industries including hospitality, cryptocurrency and digital assets, SaaS, healthcare and financial services.

He came to Kardos Scanlan in May 2024 from a boutique firm acting for technology and IP-focused businesses.

Ashley’s work covers:

• Mergers and acquisitions;
• Employee incentive schemes (ESOPs, share schemes and cash schemes);
• Corporate structuring and shareholder arrangements;
• Capital raising;
• Joint ventures and business partnerships; and
• Intellectual property.

Ashley holds a Master in Law and Finance from Oxford University alongside Honours degrees in Commerce and Law from UNSW.

Before practicing law, Ashley taught advanced Microeconomics at UNSW. He very nearly ventured into an academic career before, fortuitously, being introduced to the lawyer acting for an edutech project he was working on.
